What is Diabetes? 
Diabetes is a chronic (long-lasting) health condition, Common to many especially in high age and higher weight categories, It is a condition which affects how the body absorbs food into turns it to energy. Most of the food you eat is broken down into sugar (also called glucose)and released into your bloodstream. When your blood sugar goes up, it signals your pancreas to release insulin. In a diabetic condition this may get altered.

Risks arising out of Diabetes:
Diabetes can result in substantial increase in the risk of various cardiovascular problems,including coronary artery disease with chest pain (angina), heart attack, stroke and narrowing of arteries (atherosclerosis, nerve damage (neuropathy). It also has an impact on blood pressure and vital organs like Kidneys, Brain and Eyes.

Symptoms of Diabetes:

  • Increase in thirst
  • Frequent urination
  • Extreme hunger
  • Drastic loss of weight
  • Retarded recovery of injuries and sores
  • Fatigue
  • Irritation in behavioural pattern
  • Blurred vision
  • Frequent infections, such as gums or skin infections and vaginal infections
  • Presence of ketones in the urine (ketones are a by-product of the breakdown
    of muscle and fat that happens when there is not enough available insulin)
